Overcoming Challenges W8

As always, every week there is something new to learn. This week, I’ve learned a lot about overcoming challenge as an entrepreneur. One of the leaders from our church has taught us to never give up, to always keep walking forward, because there are good things to come.
I know that as an entrepreneur, there is going to be rough times, there is going to be ups and downs along the road. There will be times when your car will be broken along the side of the road, but as you walk forward looking for help, you will receive answers if you have a goal set in mind.

Being an entrepreneur will not be easy, but it is never impossible. If you have your mind set on a goal, long term or short term, and do not deviate from the path, you will achieve everything. I have always learned from my parents that the path is not always easy, but once you reach the goal, and turn back to look at everything you have overcome along the way, it will be worth it, because it is your win not anybody else’s.

Always count on the Lord’s help, he will always be there in times of affliction, wins, and disappointments.

7 Habits of highly effective people W7

This Week I’ve learned on how to be highly effective and apply the seven habits to our entrepreneurial journey.

As you all know the 7 habits of highly effective people are by Stephen R. Covey and it encourage us to become better in every sense.

-          Be Proactive

-          Begin with the end in mind

-          Put first things first

-          Think win/win

-          Seek first to understand, then to be understood.

-          Synergize

-          Sharpen the saw

This reminds me of a high school class where we watch the 7 habits video and our teacher helped us to understand the importance of being not only effective, but HIGHLY EFFECTIVE people.

My dad is constantly reminding me to be proactive, to never wait until an opportunity comes, and that I always have to be in the search out for opportunities. I recommend that as well, to allow it to get to you, instead, search for it and reach out for it before it even comes. Also prioritize important things first. I’ve learned to always have a list of things I have to do first, at work, at home, at school, my goals, etc. This has helped me a lot to get organize and finish everything on time.

I really enjoyed this week.

The Entrepreur and the Family W6

This week I learned the importance of a family in our entrepreneurship journey. Even in the scriptures, great leaders, behind all success there is always a family supporting. There is always time for everything, and God has blessed us all with the same 24 hours in our everyday life, the way we manage it, it’s on us. Our family comes first, being an entrepreneur comes from our home.

In my life, I’ve had many experiences with my parents always trying to be self-reliant, my mom has had a food business and my dad tours in his van (besides their careers). They have always taught us all that we need to be self-reliant and always look for opportunities to improve our skills. Never stop learning, is our theme. I am currently studying my second career and I plan to have someday my own web design business with my brother’s help in graphic design. This would not be possible without my parents’ advice. I and very grateful for the lesson this week and great entrepreneurs teach us to never let go of our family.

I have learned that as well as secular things, we need to have spiritual things in our lives besides the other thing. That is the key to success, always be on the Lord’s errand.

Spreading Hapiness W5

This week I´ve learned many things as always. I have greatly thought about advices throughout my life and who are the best people in my life who can teach me about success in life.
For an assignment this week, we had to think about the important people in our lives, like every company has advisors, we needed to think about our advisors in our life. I particularly named my family members, even those that have passed away that have been great advisors for my life. They have been there for me during the hard trials. It was a great assignment, a fun way to help us think more.
Spreading Happiness, this topic was one of my favorite topics I’ve learned about. I always like reading stories about others and how successful they’ve been with small starts. This week, I learned that in order to be an entrepreneur, you needed to know your talents very well and know who you should work for and be open-minded for suggestions from your customers. Erica Mills thought about the happiness of everyone and hers as well, was able to exploit her talents and make everyone happy with greeting cards. I was very thrilled by her success.

This week was wonderful and sure learned more and more how to be successful and trust those with experience!
