My Personal Constitution W4

This week as the other weeks, it has been amazing. I’ve learned many things and ways on how I can set short and long term goals. How to create my own personal constitution that includes: (from the bottom of the pyramid) Governing Values, Long-term goals, Short-term goals, Daily tasks.

I learned to view my life a different way, my important values and how I can govern them. The values I’ve learned from myself are: (in order of most important) “I am…”: Trustworthy, honest, integrity, charitable.

My short term goals are be able to read The Book of Mormon and be able to put into practice everything I learn from it. Also, be able to help others with my fast offerings. My long term goals are to finish my career, and put my own web design business and be able to apply my values into my job.
Another thing that I’ve learned throughout the week is my fears and how I can manage to not let them affect me in my goals. Some fears that I hope I never face are: Losing my job, therefore, I need to work hard in my values and keep them. Other fear is not finishing my career and not be able to come back to finish it. I hope this never happens, but if it doesn’t, learn how to manage to never give up and face them.

It was another great week!

Being Honest as an Entrepreneur W3

This week, I’ve learned that being honest in everything makes you a better person. I like this quote from a reading we did this week: “Here at BYU Idaho you are learning, not only how to make a living, but more importantly, how to make a good and honest living”.

Being an entrepreneur takes time, you need to innovate and create new ideas for the benefits of others. God gave us all talents that we need to develop along our life journey, so it takes time to discover them, what does that mean, that since it takes time and effort ,we will not let others take those ideas from us very easily. So, being honest with our fellow beings won’t allow them to take our ideas. We need to teach others with our attitude & beliefs that we can be honest.
I learned from a video we watched, about the “Risks in business“, that no matter the company we have, or how a successful entrepreneur we are, we always need to be honest. “You need to be honest in all your doings”, reminds us Jan Newman. No matter what, everything comes to the light, it is impossible for someone not to know what you have done.

It has been another great week of new learning and new things to put into practice in life.

New start, new opportunities W1

For my first week of class, I got the chance to learn how to be patient, getting used to the tools wasn´t easy at all.

We started by introducing ourselves, getting to know each other, where we were from, things we like and don’t like, and I met a lot of my classmates from the USA, but some are international like me.

I know this was the first post, but I want to write of what I want to get out of this journey, this class is about entrepreneurship and as we all do we want to have our own business at the end of the course. I want to be able to provide a better use of technologies for companies that don’t have that vision yet, therefore, I want to study this course to the end and learn new ways to have a better vision of my future company. I am so excited to learn more about this fun experience and to teach others about it. It´s wonderful when opportunities come to your life, you just need to catch them at the time you have them in front of you, that is the way to success, not letting the important things fly! Welcome to my blog!

My Entrepreneur Journey W2

This week I have learned a lot about finding what I want to do in my life. I´ve thought about a lot of things in life and most important, what I need to do to accomplish it.
Let´s start with “My bucket list”:

We had to write 50 things that I want to accomplish in life. Wow! I thought about it, I was in #20 and I couldn´t think of anything else, but then I meditated a little more and came to a conclusion that there are a lot of things I want to accomplish, starting with having children, finish my college career, and have my own business. Of course, all of this cannot be done without God´s help. I have been very blessed with a helpful family, they will always be there no matter what, they are helping me to continue my goals, and never give up!

I´ve been reading a book, which I find it very interesting: “The Ministry of Business”.

I found a very useful quote: “Don´t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition…Everything else is secondary.” [Steve Jobs]

I had the chance to share this quote with my dad, he has helped me by pushing me to never stop learning, starting with college. He has made it possible for me to be continuing and pursuing the career I´ve always wanted, even when others tell me to stop studying since I have a great job. I thought about the big blessings that the Lord gives us everyday, I call it OPPORTUNITIES. I´ve learn to never give up and enjoy every opportunity we get, because sometimes they can only be given to us one time.

I know all things have to come to an end someday, and therefore I need to be prepared for it; I hope to have my own business at the end of my career and stop depending on a boss.

I really enjoyed the lessons that life has given me this week and I will continue, never giving up!
